He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 when the blind man approached him, 2 What made you think that he will not grow in virtue, 3 Or be reminded and the remembrance would benefit him? 4 As for he who thinks himself without need, 5 Unto him thou payest regard. 6 Though it is not your concern if he should not grow (in fulness). 7 And as to him who comes to you striving hard, 8 and fearfully, 9 him didst thou disregard! 10 Nay! surely it is an admonishment. 11 So let whosoever will pay heed to it, 12 [It is recorded] in honored sheets, 13 Exalted, purified, 14 By the hands of scribes. 15 Noble and dutiful. 16 Accursed be man! How stubbornly he denies the Truth. 17 Of what thing hath He created him? 18 From Nutfah (male and female semen drops) He created him, and then set him in due proportion; 19 and then makes it easy for him to go through life; 20 and in the end He causes him to die and brings him to the grave; 21 Then, when it is His Will, He will raise him up (again). 22 Not one – he has not yet completed what he was commanded. 23 Let the human being think about (how We produce) his food. 24 That We watered it in abundance. 25 and cleaved the earth, cleaving it asunder; 26 And We cause therein the grain to grow, 27 And grapes and herbage, 28 And olive and palm trees 29 And enclosed gardens luxuriant. 30 And fruits and grass, 31 as provision for you and for your cattle to enjoy. 32 When the trumpet sounds, 33 That Day shall a man flee from his brother, 34 mother, father, 35 As well as his wife and children. 36 For every man, that Day, will be a matter adequate for him. 37 Some faces on that day shall shine 38 Laughing and full of joy, 39 And other faces, that Day, will be dust-stained; 40 and covered by darkness. 41 those -- they are the unbelievers, the libertines. 42
