He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ (The Prophet (Peace be upon him)) frowned and turned away, 1 Because there came unto him a blind man. 2 Yet for all thou didst know, [O Muhammad,] he might perhaps have grown in purity, 3 or have been reminded [of the truth,] and helped by this reminder. 4 For him who does not care, 5 Unto him thou payest regard. 6 Yet it is not thy concern if he grow not (in grace). 7 But as to him who came to you running. 8 And he fears, 9 you pay him no heed. 10 These verses are a reminder 11 Let him who will, pay heed to it. 12 On honourable pages. 13 Exalted (in dignity), kept pure and holy, 14 In the hands of scribes 15 Noble, virtuous. 16 Accursed is man. How ungrateful is he! 17 From what did He create him? 18 From a drop of liquid; He created him and then set several measures for him. 19 Then eased the way for him. 20 then makes him to die, and buries him, 21 Then, when it is His Will, He will resurrect him (again). 22 Not one he has not yet completed what he was commanded. 23 Then let man look at his food, (and how We provide it): 24 how We pour down rain in abundance, 25 and then We cleave the earth [with new growth,] cleaving it asunder, 26 Then We cause to grow therein the grain, 27 and grape vines and vegetables, 28 And olives and date palms, 29 and dense-tree'd gardens, 30 and fruits and pastures 31 (These are made so as to be) means of enjoyment for you and your cattle. 32 Then, when there comes As-Sakhkhah (the Day of Resurrection's second blowing of Trumpet), 33 on a Day when everyone will [want to] flee from his brother, 34 mother, father, 35 And his wife and his children, 36 on that Day each will be occupied with his own business, making him oblivious of all save himself. 37 Some faces that Day, will be bright (true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 38 laughing and joyful, 39 And other faces that Day will be dust-stained, 40 Dust shall cover them 41 These are they who are unbelievers, the wicked. 42
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: He Frowned ('Abasa). Sent down in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
