He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away. 1 that the blind man came to him. 2 How canst thou know, whether haply he might be cleansed, 3 Or take heed and so the reminder might avail him? 4 As for him who thinks himself self-sufficient, 5 To him you give attention. 6 And no blame is on you if he would not purify himself 7 As for him who comes to you striving (after goodness), 8 And is afraid (of Allah and His Punishment), 9 From him will you divert yourself. 10 Assuredly this is a reminder 11 So whoever wills may remember it. 12 It is contained in scrolls highly honoured, 13 Exalted, purified, 14 (Set down) by scribes 15 Noble, virtuous. 16 Be cursed (the disbelieving) man! How ungrateful he is! 17 From what stuff hath He created him? 18 From a drop of seed. He createth him and proportioneth him, 19 Then eased the way for him. 20 then He caused him to die and brought him to the grave, 21 then, He will raise him when He wills. 22 Nay; but he has not done what He bade him. 23 Let Man consider his nourishment. 24 For that We pour forth water in abundance, 25 Then We cracked the earth open under pressure (of germination) 26 Then We cause to grow therein the grain, 27 And Grapes and nutritious plants, 28 And olive-trees and palm-trees 29 And enclosed Gardens, dense with lofty trees, 30 and fruits, and pastures, 31 A provision for you and for your cattle. 32 But when the great calamity comes 33 it will be such a day when a person will run away from his brother, 34 his mother, his father, 35 And from his wife and sons. 36 Each one of them, that Day, will have enough concern (of his own) to make him indifferent to the others. 37 On that day faces will be bright as dawn, 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 whereas some faces will be covered with dust 40 Darkness will cover them, 41 It is they, the disbelievers, the sinners. 42
Almighty Allah's Truth.
