He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ HE FROWNED and turned away 1 Because there came unto him a blind man. 2 How could you know? Perhaps he would cleanse himself, 3 (He might) remember, and the Reminder might profit him. 4 As for him who regardeth himself self-sufficient 5 Unto him thou payest regard. 6 Though it is not your concern if he should not grow (in fulness). 7 And as for him who cometh unto thee running, 8 and fears (Allah), 9 to him thou payest no heed. 10 By no means (should it be so)! For it is indeed a Message of instruction: 11 Therefore let whoso will, keep it in remembrance. 12 (It is) in Records held (greatly) in honour (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz). 13 exalted, purified, 14 (Set down) by scribes 15 Honourable and Pious and Just. 16 Perish Man! How unthankful he is! 17 Of what [stuff] has He created him? 18 From a drop of seed. He createth him and proportioneth him, 19 Then maketh the way easy for him, 20 Then He causeth him to die, and putteth him in his grave; 21 Then, when it is His Will, He will resurrect him (again). 22 Nay, but (man) has not done what He commanded him. 23 So let man just consider his food: 24 We poured out the rains abundantly, 25 then We split the earth in fissures 26 Then We cause therein the grain to grow, 27 and grape vines and vegetables, 28 And olive and palm trees 29 and burgeoning enclosed gardens 30 and fruits, and pastures, 31 an enjoyment for you and your flocks. 32 But, when the Blast comes, 33 The day on which a man shall fly from his brother, 34 Mother and father, 35 his wife and his children. 36 Every man that day will have concern enough to make him heedless (of others). 37 on that Day some faces will be beaming, 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 Some faces on that Day shall be dust-ridden, 40 o'erspread with darkness -- 41 Those are the disbelievers, the wicked ones. 42
