The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 And when the books are spread, 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 Where then are you going? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
