The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is overthrown, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 that hide, 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 And the breath of morning 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 Your companion (Muhammad) does not suffer from any mental illness 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
