The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 the oceans are brought to a boil, 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
