The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun is covered, 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 the oceans are brought to a boil, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 with strength endowed, secure with Him who in almightiness is enthroned 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds: 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
