The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 And when souls are united, 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 by the night swarming, 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 So where are you going? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
