The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 So whither do you stray? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
