The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
