The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is shrouded in darkness, 1 And when the stars fall, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 when the buried infant shall be asked 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 And the night when it departs, 17 And the breath of morning 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 Where then are you going? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
