The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 And when souls are united, 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 And this Prophet is not miserly upon the hidden. (Allah gave the knowledge of the hidden to the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 Where then will you go? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
