The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 by the night swarming, 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 where then are you going? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
