The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 and when the seas are set on fire, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 And when the pages are made public 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 by the night when it approaches 17 The rising dawn, 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 And this Prophet is not miserly upon the hidden. (Allah gave the knowledge of the hidden to the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
