The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 And when the stars darken, 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 And when the books are spread, 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 And the close of night, 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 When whither go ye? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
