The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
When the sun is covered, 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 And when the seas rise, 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 And the breath of morning 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 So whither do you stray? 26 Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds: 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
