The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned. 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
