The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned. 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 where then are you going? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
