The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is wound up; 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 by the night swarming, 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 Where then are you going? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
