Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 And when the stars darken, 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 and when the seas are set on fire, 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 BUT NAY! I call to witness the revolving stars, 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 by the night swarming, 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 So whither do you stray? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
