The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 And when the books are spread, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 Oh, but I call to witness the planets, 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 and the night that falls, 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 Where then will you go? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
