The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 And when the stars darken, 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 Then where are you going? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
