The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 And when the written pages of deeds (good and bad) of every person shall be laid open; 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 When whither go ye? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
