The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 And when the seas rise, 6 And when the souls are paired 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 Your companion (Muhammad) does not suffer from any mental illness 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
