The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 And when the stars fall, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 Your companion (Muhammad) does not suffer from any mental illness 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 When whither go ye? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 And ye will not, unless (it be) that Allah willeth, the Lord of Creation. 29
