Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 Where then are you going? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
