The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 And when the souls are paired 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 and the night that falls, 17 The rising dawn, 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 When whither go ye? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
