The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 And when the stars fall, 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 And when the pages are made public 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 The closing night, 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
