The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 And when the stars fall, 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 questions are asked about the baby girls buried alive, 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 by the night when it approaches 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 with strength endowed, secure with Him who in almightiness is enthroned 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 Where then are you going? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
