The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 And when the pages are made public 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 that hide, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 Where then are you going? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
