The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 And when souls are united, 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 Where then will you go? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
