The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is folded up, 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 For what sin she was killed 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 Go straight, or hide; 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 The rising dawn, 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
