The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 And the breath of morning 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 Then where are you going? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
