The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 Go straight, or hide; 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 with strength endowed, secure with Him who in almightiness is enthroned 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 Your companion (Muhammad) does not suffer from any mental illness 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 where then are you going? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
