The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 by the night when it approaches 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 So where are you going? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
