The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
