The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 And when the souls are paired 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 However, you will not be able to choose anything unless God, Lord of the Universe wills it to be so. 29
