Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven shall be cleft, 1 And when the stars become dispersed, 2 And when the oceans are swept away. 3 and when the graves are laid open: 4 the soul shall know what it has done, the former and the latter. 5 O Man! What deceived thee as to thy generous Lord 6 Who created you, proportioned you, and balanced you? 7 in whatever composition He wanted. 8 Yet you deny the Last Judgement. 9 you do so the while there are watchers over you; 10 Illustrious scribes 11 who know what you do. 12 The virtuous ones will live in bliss 13 And the Wicked - they will be in the Fire, 14 Which they will enter on the Day of Judgment, 15 and then shall never come out of it. 16 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Day of Judgment is! 17 Then, what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense? 18 It is the Day when no one shall have the power to do anything for another, and all command shall be Allah's. 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
