Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the sky is split, 1 when the stars are scattered, 2 when the seas swarm over, 3 And when the graves are turned upside down (and they bring out their contents) 4 Each soul will know what it had sent ahead and what it had left behind. 5 O man! What hath made thee careless concerning thy Lord, the Bountiful, 6 Who created thee, then moulded thee, then proportioned thee? 7 In whatever shape He will He could surely have fashioned you. 8 Nay! But you deny the Recompense (reward for good deeds and punishment for evil deeds). 9 And indeed, [appointed] over you are keepers, 10 noble scribes, 11 Who know what you do. 12 Behold, [in the life to come] the truly virtuous: will indeed be in bliss, 13 And verily the ungodly shall be in a Scorch. 14 roasting in it on the Day of Recompense 15 and which they shall not [be able to] evade. 16 What will make you realize what the Day of Judgement will be? 17 How then can you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 18 It is the Day when a soul will not possess for another soul [power to do] a thing; and the command, that Day, is [entirely] with Allah. 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
