Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the heaven is cleft asunder, 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 And when the oceans are swept away. 3 And when the graves are laid open, 4 every human being will [at last] comprehend, what he has sent ahead and what he has held back [in this world]. 5 O man! What hath made thee careless concerning thy Lord, the Bountiful, 6 Who created you then formed your symmetry, then gave you right proportion, 7 Shaping you into any form He pleased? 8 Yet you deny the Last Judgement. 9 but you should know that there are angelic guards 10 noble scribes, 11 and these honorable scribes know whatever you do. 12 Most surely the righteous are in bliss, 13 And indeed the sinners are in hell. 14 which they will enter on the Day of Judgment 15 and which they shall not [be able to] evade. 16 And what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? 17 Again, what do you know what the Day of Recompense is? 18 It is the Day when a soul will not possess for another soul [power to do] a thing; and the command, that Day, is [entirely] with Allah. 19
