Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the Sky is cleft asunder; 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 when the seas overflow; 3 And when the graves are laid open, 4 A soul will know what it hath sent before (it) and what left behind. 5 O man! what hath beguiled thee concerning thy Lord, the Bountiful, 6 Who created thee, then fashioned, then proportioned thee? 7 in whatever form He pleased? 8 No indeed; but you cry lies to the Doom; 9 But verily, over you (are appointed angels in charge of mankind) to watch you. 10 Kiraman (honourable) Katibin writing down (your deeds). 11 Who know (all) that ye do. 12 As for the Righteous, they will be in bliss; 13 And indeed, the wicked will be in Hellfire. 14 Which they will enter on the Day of Judgment, 15 to burn therein. 16 And what will make you realize what the day of judgment is? 17 Again would that you only knew how terrible it really is! 18 It is the day when no soul will have power to do the least for a soul, and God's alone will be done. 19
