Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the sky breaks apart 1 the stars are dispersed, 2 when the seas are made to burst forth, 3 and the graves are turned inside out, 4 then a soul shall know its works, the former and the latter. 5 O man! what hath beguiled thee concerning thy Lord, the Bountiful, 6 who has created thee, and formed thee in accordance with what thou art meant' to be, and shaped thy nature in just proportions, 7 In whatever form He willed has He assembled you. 8 Nay, but ye deny the Judgment. 9 Lo! there are above you guardians, 10 Generous and recording, 11 Who know what you do. 12 the virtuous will dwell in bliss, 13 And most surely the wicked are in burning fire, 14 which they shall enter on the Day of Judgement, 15 And thence they shall not be allowed to be absent. 16 And what could make thee conceive what that Judgment Day will be? 17 Again would that you only knew how terrible it really is! 18 It is a Day whereon no soul shall own aught of power for any soul; and the command on that Day will be Allah's. 19
