Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the sky is cleft asunder; 1 And the stars dispersed, 2 And when the oceans are swept away. 3 and the graves are turned inside out, 4 every human being will [at last] comprehend, what he has sent ahead and what he has held back [in this world]. 5 O man! what has beguiled you from your Lord, the Gracious one, 6 who created you, fashioned you and proportioned you, 7 Into whatsoever form He will, He casteth thee. 8 Nay, [O men,] but you [are lured away from God whenever you are tempted to] give the lie to [God's] Judgment! 9 Lo! there are above you guardians, 10 Illustrious scribes 11 They know all that you do. 12 the virtuous will dwell in bliss, 13 And verily, the Fujjar (the wicked, disbelievers, sinners and evil-doers) will be in the blazing Fire (Hell), 14 They shall enter it on the Day of Recompense 15 And they will not be able to keep away therefrom. 16 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Day of Judgment is! 17 And once again: What could make thee conceive what that Judgment Day will be? 18 It is the day when no soul will have power to do the least for a soul, and God's alone will be done. 19
