Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven becomes cleft asunder, 1 And when the stars shall be scattered, 2 When the Oceans are suffered to burst forth; 3 and the graves are turned inside out, 4 (Then) a person will know what he has sent forward and (what he has) left behind (of good or bad deeds). 5 O man! What hath made thee careless concerning thy Lord, the Bountiful, 6 who created you, fashioned you and proportioned you, 7 He moulded you into whatever shape He willed. 8 Not at all – but rather you deny the establishment of Justice. 9 And indeed, [appointed] over you are keepers, 10 watching over you 11 Knowing all what you may do. 12 The pious will surely be in heaven, 13 And lo! the wicked verily will be in hell; 14 roasting in it on the Day of Recompense 15 And will not be able to hide from it. 16 And what do you know – of what sort is the Day of Justice! 17 And once again: What could make thee conceive what that Judgment Day will be? 18 (It will be) the Day when no soul shall have power (to do) aught for another: For the command, that Day, will be (wholly) with Allah. 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
