Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven is cleft asunder. 1 and when the stars are scattered; 2 And when the seas are erupted 3 And the sepulchres are overturned, 4 then everyone will know what he has sent ahead, and what he has left behind. 5 O man! What has made you careless concerning your Lord, the Most Generous? 6 Who created you, fashioned you perfectly, and gave you due proportion; 7 in whatever composition He wanted. 8 No indeed; (the fact is that) you deny the Reckoning, declaring it a lie; 9 But verily, over you (are appointed angels in charge of mankind) to watch you. 10 The honourable recorders. 11 and these honorable scribes know whatever you do. 12 Indeed, the righteous shall (live) in bliss. 13 and the libertines shall be in a fiery furnace 14 They will enter it on the Day of Justice. 15 And they shall by no means be absent from it. 16 And what will explain to thee what the Day of Judgment is? 17 Then, what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense? 18 A day when no soul shall possess aught to succour another soul; that day the Command shall belong unto God. 19
