The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
36 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Spider (Al-Ankaboot) before The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Woe to the stinters; 1 those who demand a full measure from others 2 But when they have to give by measure or weight to men, give less than due. 3 Do they not realize that they will be resurrected 4 on a fateful Day. 5 the Day when people will stand before the Lord of the Worlds? 6 No indeed! Verily the deeds of the wicked are in the Record locked up in the prison-house! 7 And what could make thee conceive what that that mode inescapable will be? 8 (It is) a marked Book. 9 Woe, that Day, to those that deny- 10 those who deny the Day of Judgement. 11 And none deny it except every sinful transgressor. 12 When our signs are recited to him, he says, 'Fairy-tales of the ancients!' 13 No indeed! Their own deeds have cast a veil over their hearts. 14 Nay, but surely on that day they will be covered from (the mercy of) their Lord. 15 Then indeed they have to enter hell. 16 Then it will be said: 'this is that which ye were wont to belie.' 17 NAY, VERILY - the record of the truly virtuous is [set down] in a mode most lofty! 18 What could let you know what the 'Illiyoon is! 19 The record is a sealed text. 20 witnessed by those brought nigh. 21 Most surely the righteous shall be in bliss, 22 Reclining on couches, looking on. 23 You will recognize in their faces the brightness of bliss. 24 They are made to quaff of a pure drink that is sealed (to others). 25 With a sealing of musk, which those who aspire for the best should desire, -- 26 a wine tempered with the waters of Tasnim, 27 A fountain from which only they who are honoured drink. 28 Behold, the wicked were wont to laugh at the believers: 29 when they passed by them, they would wink at one another; 30 When they returned to their people they returned jesting; 31 And when they saw them they said: Lo! these have gone astray. 32 Yet they were not sent to be their guardians. 33 So this day it is the believers who laugh at the disbelievers. 34 On (high) thrones, looking (at all things). 35 Will not the infidels pay for what they had done? 36

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
