The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
36 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Spider (Al-Ankaboot) before The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Woe to the diminishers, 1 Who, when they take a measure from people, take in full. 2 But if they measure unto them or weight for them, they cause them loss. 3 Do they not realise that they will be raised to life 4 [and called to account] on an awesome Day 5 The day when (all) mankind stand before the Lord of the Worlds? 6 No indeed; the Book of the libertines is in Sijjin; 7 And what will make thee know whatsoever the record in Sijjin is? 8 it is a written record. 9 Ah the woe that day for those who deny, 10 Those that deny the Day of Judgment. 11 And none deny it except every sinful transgressor. 12 And when Our revelations are rehearsed unto him, he saith: fables of the ancients! 13 No indeed; but that they were earning has rusted upon their hearts. 14 Indeed! On that Day a barrier will be set between them and their Lord, 15 and then they shall enter Hell, 16 And it will be said (unto them): This is that which ye used to deny. 17 No! Indeed, the record of the righteous is in 'illiyyun. 18 and what will make you understand what the 'Illiyyin is? -- 19 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 20 To which bear witness those Nearest (to Allah). 21 Truly the Righteous will be in Bliss: 22 [resting on couches, they will look up [to God]: 23 upon their faces thou wilt see the brightness of bliss. 24 They will be given a drink of pure wine, sealed, 25 its seal will be of musk -- for this let the aspirants aspire -- 26 a wine tempered with the waters of Tasnim, 27 The spring from which drink the ones close to Allah. 28 The sinners laughed at the believers 29 And winked at one another as they passed by them; 30 and when they returned to their own people, they would speak of them jestingly; 31 On seeing the believers, they would say, "These people have gone astray". 32 Yet they were not sent to be their guardians. 33 But on this Day the Believers will laugh at the Unbelievers: 34 Regarding them from their cushioned seats. 35 Are not the disbelievers paid for what they used to do? 36
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
