The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Woe to the stinters; 1 who, when people measure for them, take full measure, 2 But when they measure out to others or weigh out for them, they are deficient. 3 Imagine such men not that they shall be raised up? 4 for a great Day, 5 The Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the worlds? 6 Indeed, the record of the disbelievers is in the lowest place, the Sijjeen. 7 What could let you know what the Sijjeen is! 8 (It is) a marked Book. 9 Woe on that Day to those who belied it, 10 Who deny the Day of Recompense. 11 And none belieth it save each trespasser, sinner. 12 And when Our revelations are rehearsed unto him, he saith: fables of the ancients! 13 No. In fact what they have been doing has rusted their hearts. 14 Therefore they will be screened off from their Lord that day, 15 Then indeed they have to enter hell. 16 whereafter they will be told: “This is what you used to give the lie to.” 17 Nay, verily the record of the Righteous is (preserved) in 'Illiyin. 18 And what do you know what the Illiyoon are! 19 A record of good deeds written. 20 witnessed by those who are near (to Allah). 21 The righteous shall indeed be blissful, 22 seated on couches and gazing around in wonder. 23 You will recognise the freshness of serenity on their faces. 24 They shall be given to drink of a wine that is sealed, 25 whose seal is musk – so let all aspirants aspire after that – 26 And it is mixed with Tasneem. 27 A spring whereof drink those nearest to Allah. 28 The sinners indeed laughed at believers 29 and winked at one another as they passed them by. 30 And when they returned to their own followers they returned exulting. 31 and when they saw the believers, they said: “Lo! These are the erring ones”; 32 Whereas they were not sent over them as watchers. 33 So today the believers are laughing at the unbelievers, 34 On adorned couches, observing. 35 Surely the disbelievers are rewarded as they did. 36
