The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Woe to those that deal in fraud,- 1 when they measure against the people, take full measure 2 but when they have to measure or weigh whatever they owe to others, give less than what is due! 3 Do they not realise that they will be raised to life 4 on a great day 5 the Day when all men shall stand before the Sustainer of all the worlds? 6 By no means! Verily the record of the ungodly is in Sijjin. 7 Would that you knew what Sijin is!? 8 It is a (repository of) distinctly written record. 9 Woe on that day to the rejecters, 10 those who deny the Day of Judgement. 11 No one rejects it except the sinful transgressors 12 When Our revelations are recited before him, he says: "These are fables of long ago." 13 Nay! rather, what they used to do has become like rust upon their hearts. 14 Nay! Surely, they (evil-doers) will be veiled from seeing their Lord that Day. 15 Then, verily they will indeed enter and taste the burning flame of Hell. 16 and who will be told, "This is what you had called a lie". 17 Indeed the record of the virtuous is in the highest place, the Illiyin. 18 Would that you knew what Illiyin is! 19 It is a written book, 20 Which is witnessed by those brought near [to Allah]. 21 Most surely the righteous shall be in bliss, 22 On thrones, looking (at all things). 23 thou knowest in their faces the radiancy of bliss 24 They will be given pure wine out of sealed containers 25 Its seal is upon musk; and for this should those who crave be eager. 26 a wine whose mixture is Tasnim, 27 A spring from which those near [to Allah] drink. 28 BEHOLD, those who have abandoned themselves to sin are wont to laugh at such as have attained to faith 29 And winked at one another as they passed by them; 30 And when they returned to their household they returned jesting. 31 And when they saw them, they said: "They have indeed gone astray." 32 No one has appointed them to watch over the believers. 33 But on this Day the Believers will laugh at the Unbelievers: 34 Reclining on couches, looking on. 35 Will not the infidels pay for what they had done? 36
